Tom Jones, a Trustee of the Cowper & Newton Museum, will give an interesting and amusing talk based on Olney’s links to wider Georgian society.

The Georgians went through tumultuous times, land enclosures and agricultural reform, industrial revolution, wars, colonialism, militia activities, celebrity, satire, and scandal. This was also the time of the rising middle classes who had money to spend.
