Roade residents Syd Humphrey and Humphrey Cripps were hard-working well-educated cousins who made a significant contribution to village life. Their enthusiasm for personal hobbies produced nationally important collections of butterflies, show birds and postage stamps.

Come along and hear about their outstanding successes resulting from their joint interests, one of which resulted in the British Postage Stamp Auctions of 2011-2012 that will probably never be surpassed.

The talk will give a brief description of the top sale finasteride to buy lots in the 10 Auctions it took to dispose of the huge Chartwell Stamp Collection which contained one of the best collections of British stamps, especially the Penny Black, in the world that was not in the hands of the Royal Family.

It includes some insight into the importance of the Penny Black and the types of items sought after by serious philatelists, pitched at a general interest audience.
