Castlethorpe Fete 1975

The Milton Keynes Express 20 June 1975

“Fairy Tales”

A Parade of colourful floats opened the successful Castlethorpe fete, which raised £350, on Saturday.
They were judged by local farmer’s wife Mrs. Rosemary Sawbridge, who opened the fete. She chose a float presented by the Castlethorpe playgroup, who picked the nursery rhyme £Sing a Song of Sixpence” as the theme. Miss Juliet Easton, a 17-year-old student of Station Rd. Castlethorpe, was chosen as Miss Castlethorpe 1975, and crowned by last year’s winner Caroline Eade.
Attractions included side shows, stalls and a country dancing display provided by Hanslope school children. The day ended with a barn dance, held at Malting Farm, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sawbridge, which proved to be a great success.
