Ramble to Linford Wood

Met at 9.30 a.m. Headquarters

Owing to the cold weather Baloo checked each Cub Scout’s attire to ensure that they were suitably protected. The party was transported to Hanslope Park where we commenced our ramble. With snow underfoot and a very cold wind we maintained a steady pace until we reached the shelter of Linford Wood. Animal and bird tracks could be seen in the snow but only Mr. Monk actually spotted a Deer.
Having walked through the Wood we came upon a large stone ruined barn that only had its strong walls standing. We then headed back towards Hanslope Park along the bank of a partly frozen brook until we reached the parked vehicles by retracing part of our outward journey.
Although it was a very cold morning the party felt refreshes after the ramble returning to the Headquarters at 11.45 a.m.
