Milton Keynes North District Cub Scout Quiz First Round We were hosted for the First Round to Neath Hill at the Headquarters after our usual weekly Pack Night. After biscuits were served to the teams and supporters, Mr. Cox as Question Master started the Quiz. The Teams were evenly matched and points were difficult to win during the 6 Rounds of the Quiz. After the third Round the teams were even but from this halfway stage Hanslope slowly forged ahead to win the Quiz by 20 points to 14. It had been a struggle for both teams to answer the questions but our lads tried to do their best throughout and were rewarded with a place in the next Round.

Thursday March 16th 1898 Quarter Finals After Grand Howl and Inspection the Quiz Team departed for the Quarter Finals at United Reform Church Newport Pagnell escorted by Mr. Cox and Akela for a 6.30 p.m. start. Arriving at the venue we found that 3 Quarter Finals would take place at the same time but in different rooms. 1st Olney failed to turn up so their opponents were through to the Semi Finals on a bye. We arranged ourselves for the battle against Two Mile Ash & Great Holm Viking Pack with Mr. Cox as the Question Master. The contest developed into a keen tussle but Vikings were always in front and only in the 5th round of 6 did Hanslope manage to win a round. Thus Vikings won the Quarter Final by 26¼ to 18¼. After congratulating our victors and Akela making the draw for the Semi Finals we departed. Our lads performed to the best of their ability and rewarded with a bag of hot chips before we returned home at 8.0 p.m. Team
