The Millennium was a particularly active year for Grafton Regis. It saw the publication of Grafton Regis The History of a Northamptonshire Village; a visit by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales to plant an oak tree at the site of the Hermitage; and the reopening of the Village Hall, following a major refurbishment programme, by Her Grace, the Duchess of Grafton.
These activities were all celebrated in a peal of bells in St Marys church and commemorated in a plaque mounted in the north-west corner of the nave
