In the Name of God Amen the eighth day of September one thousand seaven hundred and one I John Abbott of Haversham in the County of Buckingham yeoman being weake of body but of sound and perfect memory (blessed be God), doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and form following ffirst I bequeath my soul into the hands of God that gave it wholly relying upon and trusting in the meritts and satisfaction of my Deare Lord and redeemer Jesus Christ for to missing full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and the Eternall Salvation of my Immortall soul when heere I shall be no longer And my body I Commit to the earth whenice it was taken to be decently buryed as my Executrix shall thinke fitt And as to that Temporal Estate which the Lord hath been pleased to lend me I dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give to my son John Abbott the summe of Twenty pounds, Item I give to Son Nathaniel Abbott the sume of twenty pounds Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth Abbott the sume of ffifteen pounds Item I give to my daughter Sarah Abbott the sume of ffifteen pounds And my will is that those Legacyes shall be paid to my Children aforesaid when they shall arrive at the age of one and Twenty and if any of them Shall dye before they receive their Legacye then the Legacie of him or her deceased shall be Equally divided amongst them of my Children shall survive and if any of my Children shall want som part of their legacies before they come to the age of one and Twenty to place them out or put them to a trade I desire they may have so much as my Executrix shall think to needful And lastly I give to Elizabeth my wife all that house that I have at preston with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to enjoye the yearely rent or profit of it so long as she shall continue a widdow and when she shall hapen to Marry againe or departe this life (which shall first happen) then I give the house aforesaid to my sonn John and to his heires for ever All the rest of my goods and Chattells with all bills bonds and debts whatsoever specified in my debt booke (that is of all such as are well able to pay) I give to Elizabeth my wife whom I doe make full and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament In witnese whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written John Abbott In the presence of Jacob ffloyde Elizabeth Shilborne
