Anthony Ashebie 1557
In ye name of god Amen The xviijth day of August 1557 and in ye iiijth and vth yeare of ye Raigne of phillip and marie by ye grace of god kyng and Queene of England Spaigne ffrance and etc I Anthony Ashebie of Haversham in ye Countie of Bucks husbandman of perfect mynde and memorie, God be praised therefore, and yet sore greeved with sicknes, do ordain and make this my last Will and testament as heereafter foloweth ffirst I bequeath my Soule to almightie god and etc And my bodie to be buried, When it shall please almightie god to take my Soule to his mercie, in ye Churchyarde of Haversham before saide. Item I bequeath to my mother church of Lincoln ijd Item I bequeath to ye high Aulter of Haversham aforesaide iiijd and to ye belles there iiijd Item I bequeath to Rich my eldest sonne a suckling colte and a Weaned calf. Item to William my midle sonne an yearlyng bullocke, and to John my youngest sonne an yearelyng bullocke. Item I bequeath to my eldest dawghter Anne a bryndell cowe Item to second dawghter Johane an heighforth with calf and to my youngest dawghter Joyce a blossom faced yonge cowe. The Residue of my goodes unbequeathed I bequeath to margarette my Wife, trustynge yt she Will be good and naturall to oure children, after my decesse, Whom I make my sole Executrixe to se this my last Will performed my debts to be paide and my funeral expenses at ye burial of my bodie discharged Item I Will John Waren and John Ashebie my brother to be myne overseers.
