Thomas Greaves 1826
In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Greaves of Haversham in the County of Bucks Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I give and bequeath unto my Wife Jane Greaves all such ready money and Cash Notes as shall be in my House at the time of my decease Also I give and bequeath unto her my said Wife All my Plate Linen China Glass Books Household Goods and Furniture and Implements of Household whatsoever for her absolute use and benefit Also I give and bequeath unto her my said Wife the Legacy or sum of Two thousand pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid her at the end of Twelve Calendar Months next after my decease with Interest for the same to be computed from the day of my decease and payable half Yearly until payment of the said Legacy at and after the rate of Four pounds per Centum per Annum Also I give and bequeath unto my son John Greaves the sum of Three thousand Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid him on the attainment of his Age of twenty one years with lawful interest for the same at and after the rate aforesaid to be computed from the day of my decease and payable half Yearly as aforesaid (such interest to be applied for his maintenance education or benefit at the discretion of his Guardian and Trustee hereinafter named) Also I give and bequeath unto each of my Daughters Martha Greaves and Maria Greaves the sum of One thousand five hundred Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to them respectively at the end of Six Calendar Months next after my decease with Interest for the same at and after the rate aforesaid to be computed from the day of my decease and payable half Yearly until payment of the said respective Legacies And I do hereby make subject and charge all my real estate and unbequeathed residue of my Personal Estate to and with payment of the several pecuniary Legacies hereinbefore given And as to and concerning all and every my Freehold and other Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and real Estate whatsoever situate in Haversham aforesaid Abthorpe in the County of Northampton and elsewhere soever And also as to and concerning all and singular my Monies (save as hereinbefore mentioned) securities for Money live and dead Farming Stock Implements of Husbandry and other the rest and residue of my Personal Estate not hereinbefore bequeathed (subject as to both my said real and residuary personal Estate to the payment of my just debts Funeral and Testamentary expences and the pecuniary Legacies hereinbefore by me given I do give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof respectively unto my sons Thomas Greaves and Edmund Greaves their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns equally as tenants in Common And I do nominate and appoint them the said Thomas Greaves and Edmund Greaves to be joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament And I do also request that my Brother Alexander Greaves will as far as he conveniently can assist my said Sons Thomas Greaves and Edmund Greaves in their Executorship concerns earnestly soliciting his kind attention to their benefit and advantage and that of my other Children and requesting his acceptance of Five Guineas as a complimentary acknowledgement In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Greaves the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper to each of the same sheets set my hand and seal this third day of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty five Thomas Greaves Signed sealed published and declared by the above names Thomas Greaves the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses hereto Thomas Bolding George Kibble Haversham John Dampier Buckingham

Proved the 10th day of October 1826 before the Reverend Charles Robert Ashfield Clerk Surrogate by the Oaths of Thomas Greaves and Edmund Greaves the natural and lawful sons and joint Executors to whom Administration was committed they being first sworn duly to Administer
