A talk by Ian Peacock – Lifelong modeller and Spitfire enthusiast.

After the original designer RJ Mitchell died in 1937, his successor Joe Smith developed the fighter to make it faster and more powerful giving the RAF a critical edge over the German Luftwaffe. Produced in greater numbers than any other British combat aircraft, 20,341 Spitfires were built and the aircraft remained in production for 12 years.

All welcome. Non-Members £3.00.
