The Olney and District Historical Society (ODHS) was founded in 1997 by a group of like-minded people determined to keep the history of the town and its environs alive for all generations of people living in the town and those who have since left the town.

The main function of the Society has been to provide its members each year with a series of wide ranging series of historical talks in the Olney Centre. Unfortunately in recent years the Society as been unable  to recruit and retain sufficient committee members to continue this function and consequently it has been discontinued (since December 2019). However, the Society’s website, developed over the past 20 years, continues to share the rich history of the area.

The Society was renamed in 2020 to the ‘Olney & District History Society’ to reflect the more limited nature of its current scope.

The ODHS remains a member of the Milton Keynes Heritage Association.
