Speaker: Dr John Sorrell.

This talk tells the story of two women, Mairi Chisholm and Elsie Knocker, who went to war in 1914 with the Flying Ambulance Corps. Serving throughout the war in Belgium, they ran an aid post almost in the front line and were the only women allowed by Act of Parliament to serve in the trenches.

Meetings are open to the general public. A donation towards the cost of room hire and refreshments of £4 is suggested.
