RIFLEMAN PERCY E. C. DAVIS

Percy was the only son of James Davis, of The Leys Villas. Percy joined up in Autumn 1917. He spent time with the Royal Warwick Regiment, as no. 41152.

North Bucks Times, 26th June, 1918: “Mrs Davis has received from an Army Chaplain with regard to the death of her son a letter saying Rifleman Percy Davis, Royal Irish Rifles, was with a working party behind the trenches when a shell burst and he was killed immediately.”

He was 18 years old.

He is listed on the Klein-Vierstraat British Cemetery, Kemmel, Heuvelland, Belgium. Listed on the Woburn Sands Memorial, and the Methodist Memorial. His army service papers have not survived.
