Eco Park Situated near Willen Lake, adjacent to Gullivers Land An ideal day out for families with children especially those from about 3 to 12 years of age. Lots of full scale models of dinosaurs and other prehistoric monsters, rides , archaeological 'digs' for fossils & bones. Bletchley Park - Situated off the Buckingham Road by the Eight Belles pub. Bletchley Park was the centre of decoding activities during World War II, where the German Enigma codes were broken, and home to Colossus, the world's first computer. Visitors can follow the Cryptology Trail to learn how the code breaking was done, see a working replica of Colossus, and chart the development of electronic intelligence through a collection of computers. Various exhibitions, including vehicles of the period, costumes, toys and one of the largest collections of Churchill memorabilia, help to recreate the atmosphere of wartime Britain. www.bletchleypark.org.uk Tel: 01908 640450 Art Gallery - The city and region's exciting new contemporary art gallery shows 8-10 exhibitions a year. It is situated next to the theatre at the junction of Midsummer Boulevard and Marlborough Gate. Milton Keynes Museum - The museum, housed in a beautiful Victorian Farmstead, to the north of the city, offers something for all the family. Milton Keynes Theatre - The Theatre offers a wide and varied programme of events. It is located at the junction of Midsummer Boulevard and Marlborough Gate near Campbell Park (adjacent to the Main Shopping Area and Food Centre).
Golf Courses - Milton Keynes has two well-established golf courses: Windmill Hill Golf Centre - The Windmill course is located by the Windmill Hill roundabout(H8/V2) on the A421. Facilities include an 18-hole course (6,720 yards par 73), practice putting greens and a floodlit driving range. Abbey Hill Golf Course - Close to the Abbey Hill roundabout off the A5, with a new 6-hole par 3 family course, as well as an 18-hole course (6,177 yards par 68). Ice Skating - Available at "Planet Ice", South Row, Central Milton Keynes. National Hockey Stadium - Currently the home of MK Dons football team. Situated next to the railway station. Ten Pin Bowling - State of the art, hi-tech bowling is available at the "City Limits" section of the Xscape entertainment complex. Willen Lakeside Park - One of the most popular outdoor leisure sites in the Milton Keynes area is Willen Lake, which comprises 80 acres of landscaped parkland, and a 100 acre lake. Situated 2 miles from J14 of the M1 and ten minutes from Central Milton Keynes, it has easy access and parking for 1000 cars. The site provides windsurfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing (with tuition if required). Xscape - which opened in June 2000, is described as "the ultimate entertainment destination". The complex combines Europe's largest indoor "real snow" ski slope, 16 screen cinema multiplex, fitness centre, "City Limits" family entertainment centre, indoor rock climbing wall, interesting and unique retail stores, bars, restaurants and cafes all under one roof. Elsewhere in the area, places to visit include: Canal Museum - Stoke Bruerne - Housed in a restored corn mill in the picturesque village of Stoke Bruerne, the museum collection vividly portrays the heritage of 200 years of inland waterways. Canal boat trips also available. Fenny Lodge Gallery - On the banks of the Grand Union canal in an attractive 18th century cottage, Fenny Lodge Gallery sells high quality and innovative work from both well-known and up-and-coming artists. Stowe Landscape Gardens (National Trust) - One of the first and finest landscape gardens in Europe. Adorned with buildings by Vanbrugh, Gibbs and Kent, including arches, temples, a Palladian bridge and other monuments, the sheer scale of the garden makes it Britain's largest work of art. Woburn Abbey - Woburn Abbey, set in a beautifully landscaped 3,000 acre Deer Park, has been the main residence of the Dukes of Bedford for over 400 years. It houses many beautiful works of art that have long been recognised as one of the most impressive and important private collections on view to the public. The Woburn Abbey Antiques Centre is probably the largest such centre in the UK outside London, and is a fascinating experience for both buyers and browsers alike. Woburn Safari Park - A wide variety of wild life attractions, including an extensive "Safari Drive Through". Thrift Farm - Just off the A421 at the Whaddon roundabout towards Mursley.
