Dear May

Cheer up. I am coming home next Saturday.

By the way if anybody wants to write to me, they will have to address me like the address below, in the shape of an envelope.

Stamp
Rifleman A.E.M. French
K.R.R.
Regimental No.7259 E Company
Gidea Park
Romford
Essex

If you address the envelope exactly like this, it will reach me all right.

If you or Aunt wants to know all the details, you had better read Dad's letter, because I have told him almost everything, in that letter. When I arrive home in the uniform of the King on Saturday, you will be able to take me out, and swank as you call it. The only thing is, that I shan't have any money to treat me, or myself or you or anybody else, because I shall only have enough money to pay my fare to Wolverton, and back here again. On Saturday I shall get to Euston about half-past two, and then take the first train home. So I shall arrive home some time on Saturday afternoon, in any case not later than half past five, tea time. Tell Aunt that if she has the tea early, that I should like some tea, if I get home late, as I shall not have any money to buy refreshments on the way.

With love and good wishes until next Saturday

Your dear brother, Albert
