Just a line hoping it finds you in the pink as usual.

We have just had the sad news to say Lord Kitchener has been drowned, my word we hadn't need lose men like him.but still I expect it can't be helped. I expect Aunt told you about Reg I haven't heard since, and then only to say he was in hospital, and didn't say what was the matter with him, but I should think it must be something very bad or they would not have brought him here.

Well Albert you liked the photo then, Aunt did not, she said it wasn't like me, but every one else did and I did myself more than any I have had. Well Old boy how is the weather out in France, it has been wet here all the week-end, and Monday and today.

None of us here have got any holidays nor the school children. So it will seem a funny holiday. I might go to Bedford on Saturday or Sunday just for a change. The young boys here aren't half having to go up and enlist and some have gone to France today to work on the railway. Dad and the boys send their love, you will soon be sweet 17 and never been kissed on the 22nd of this month. Well cheerio and keep on smiling. I will close now with all my fondest love. Hurry up and send me a line as you know you owe me one. By the way Albert send us a card if you have a chance to get one as they are so pretty.

Your loving Sister
