| Living Room – the most impressive 'wow' feature was the size of the living room. Designed to double as a dining room, as was often the case at that time, it was massive; at 35’ x 12’6” more than three times the size of contemporary (and modern) living rooms. This is possible because, forming the bar of the ‘H’, it also doubles as the through traffic area; with no truly separate hall and all the other rooms leading off it. It simultaneously connects all of these and separates/isolates them!
For the record, and for the collectors of 'modern antiques, 'as-new' examples of the original kitchen and the 'blue' bathroom can still be found in at least one bungalow:
