Privacy at the Rear -  half of the northern bungalows which have the open space to the rear - the '3 bed' versions - are automatically screened by the staggered bungalow behind them.

The other half have a choice whether to be open to the canal or private. Although the original design had the rear of the garden defined only by a pergola for half its its width, with open access under this, about half have now chosen some form of greater privacy, from the original white 'hit & miss' timber, perhaps repainted, but now with a wrought iron gate, through post and rail with dense planting, to brand new fencing panels and chain-link fencing.
