World War 1 and the local area

During World War 1, Milton Keynes as it is now - a city and metropolitan county - did not exist but was a collection of small towns and villages. There is significant evidence of local involvement in the War, and War Memorials can be found throughout Milton Keynes.

Young Heritage Hunters worked with a group of young people from Milton Keynes Academy researching World War 1. The research included:

During the research, one of the students found postcards, medals and souvenirs from her Great-great-great Grandfather's time on the Western Front.
