In 1971 Norman Lister RIBA researched buildings in the designated area of the City of Milton Keynes for the Development Corporation and included 300 that were considered worthy of conservation in the book Building Conservation in Milton Keynes – a photographic index.

By 1986 when Paul Woodfield produced  A guide to the Historic Buildings of Milton Keynes  for MKDC it had been realised that there were more historic buildings worthy of note in the area.

Note that Vicarage Lane has now become Vicarage Road.
