The Upper room West window shown here, replaced a doorway which led to a gallery, that was reported to have been demolished in 1887 because it and the door were misused by "idle lads and strangers". From the faculty for 1864 it appears that this doorway replaced an even earlier "lancet window" which may have been in the same position as the window extant.
