Sir Thomas was a High Court Judge and is buried in the Church. (see Monument, in the Church). He was succeeded by his son Sir Peter Tyrell who had been created a baronet in 1665. He made a settlement of this manor in 1691, and in 1704 he and his son Thomas were allowed by Act of Parliament to vest it in a trustees for sale, reserving certain lands, including the fee-farm rents in Castlethorpe. It was sold in 1709 to Gervase Lord Pierrpoint of Ardglass.
The demesne lands of Hanslope Manor in Castlethorpe, sometimes called Castle Thorpe Manor in the 16th century, were leased for twenty-one years in 1522 to Thomas Slade, and on his surrender in 1528, to Christopher Wren and John Knight. A similar lease was granted in 1563 to Thomas Butler and extended to fortytwo years in 1569. The lease had passed to Ambrose Butler before 1583, when he obtained a further extention for twenty-one years dating from 1604. He transferred his lease in 1587 to Richard Troughton, who obtained a grant of the of the reversion for thirty years dating from 1626, and was succeeded by his son Richard between 1619 and 1625. In 1626 Thomas, afterwsrds Sir Tomas Tyrell, kt., was granted the reversion of the lease for forty-one years dating from 1658, and in 1627 secured the reversion in fee at the end of this term for Gregory Pratt and others, probably his agents. The grant of Hanslope Manor made to Sir Thomas Tyrell in 1663 included his estate in Castle Thorpe. Upon the sale of the manor in 1709 this estate was reserved for Sir Peter Tyrell's son Thomas and his wife Dorothy in lieu of their marriage settlement in 1696. Thomas Tyrell succeeded his father in 1711, and on his death in 1714 the baronetcy became extinct. He left two daughters and co-heirs Christobella and Harriet. In 1726 they, with their husbands John Knapp and Francis Mann, conveyed the Castle Thorpe estate with free fishing rights in the stream between the mill and Southmead to Matthew Skinner and others. It was purchased soon afterwards by Sarah Duchess of Marlborough, and from 1731 descended with Dunton Manor.
