| ENTERTAINMENT. On Saturday evening members of the Stony Stratford, Pleasant Evening Society gave an entertainment in the Wesleyan Schoolroom in aid of the Band of Hope. There was a good attendance. Mr. John Franklin presided. The programme contributed was much appreciated. Songs were rendered by Miss Stanbridge, and Messrs. F. Downing, F. Butcher, F. Hillyer, James Franklin, J. Freestone, and the Chairman. Recitations, Miss L. French and Mr. F. Barley. The dialogue, entitled “The Prodigal’s Return,” given by Messrs. F. Downing, F. Abbott, F. Hillyer, and F. Butcher, was much appreciated. Mr. Olney thanked the Stratford friends for their visit and most interesting programme, and Mr. Franklin briefly acknowledged the same. |
