9 & 11 School Lane
Three cottages in School Lane were originally one 15th century medieval open hall farmhouse, probably belonging to a freeman. Some of the original cruck beams are still visable inside number 11.
9 School Lane
The house had a two bay hall (now half in number 9, half in number 11), a chamber and solar
(now number 7) and service area (now number 11).
11 School Lane
The original timber framed walls filled with wattle and daub have been replaced with brickwork. The roof line has been raised and windows and chimneys added to accommodate an upper floor.
