In the Name of God Amen the fourteenth day of … in the Seven and Twentieth year of the Reigne of our Soverign Lord Kyng [Charles] by the grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland defender of the ffaith etc And in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six hundred and fforty I Anthony Baylie of Castle Thropp in the Countie of Bucks being sicke and weake of Body but of sounde and perfect remembrance (pea… bee Almighty God) Doe hereby ordayne and make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following And first and about all things I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker In full hope and assurance through the meritts of Jesus Christ to have remysion and forgivness of all my Sinnes And my Body I comend to the Earth whereof it was made, and to be decently buryed in the Churchyarde of Castle Throp aforesaid by my Executors And concerning my Worldly goods and Estate which Almighty God hath of his liberall goodness bestowed upon me I give and bequeath in manner as followeth Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Catherine my wife for her maintenance and in terms of the thirds or dowry the summe of Six pounds of lawfull English money per Annum to bee paid her quarterly during the terme of her naturall life Item I give to my god daughter Anne Moler Twenty shillings of lawfull English money to bee paid to her with in one Yeare next after my Decease Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth ffreeman als Clarke and ffrancis Myles two other of my god daughters to each of them Ten shillings apiece of like lawfull money to be paid to them within one Yeare next after my decease Item I give and bequeath to Anthony Gibbs my godsonne ffive shillings of like lawfull money to be paid him within one yeare next after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Martha the mother of John Parkins otherwise called John Baylie my Executor the sum of fforty shillings of like lawfull money to be paid to her or where and whom shee shall appoint her use within one yeare next after my decease Item I give to Humfrey Myles and ffrancis his wife the summe of fforty shillings of like lawfull money to be paid within one quarter of a yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath to Robert sonne of the aforesaid Humfrey Myles and ffrancis the summe of [eight] shillings Six pence of like lawfull money to be paid to his said father for … within one Yeare next after my decease Item concerning John Parkins otherwise called John Baylie which I have kept and brought up as my owne Child and dearly love to him I give my house with all and singler the appurtenances thereto belonging (wherein I nowe dwell in Castell Thropp aforesaid) and to the heires of his body forever. Item I give unto the said John Parkins otherwise called Baylie and to his heires all those my three Acres of Arrable lands and Close in Thropp aforesaid with their Appurtenances together with all my estate right and interest therein, which said Close and arable Land I lately purchased of Thomas Nicholls Item my will and mynde is that if it shall happen the said John Parkins als Baylie do decease this world without yssue of his body then I give and bequeath my aforesaid house and Close and Arrable Lands with their Appurtenances To the Children of Robert Moler of Hartwell, the Children of Robert Bell of the same and the Children of the said Humfrey Myles, And to soe many of those said children that shalbee then living and to their heires for ever equally to bee devided among them. Item that if it shall happen the said John Parkins do depart this world without yssue of his body and my house Close and Arable land shall dissend and come to the said Children as is before lymitted and appointed That then there shalbe paid out of the said house close and Arrable land by those to whom the said house Close and Arrable Land shall desend and come to as aforesaid to Martha Parkins the mother of the said John the somme of Ten Pounds of lawfull English money if the said Martha shalbe then living Item all the residue of my goods and Chattells aswell moveables as ynmoveables whatsoever my wives Annuite being truly paid my debets Legaryes and charges of my funeral discharges I give and bequeath to the paid John Parkins als Baylie whom I make and ordayne my full and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament And I doe hereby revoke all Wills and bequests by me formerly made; And I doe hereby intreate my loveing and trusted friends Robert Travell of Bullington End in the parish of Hanslopp and Thomas Collison of Castell Thropp aforesaid in whom I repose with Confidence to be my Executors in trust with the said John Parkins als Bayley And help counsell and assist him in his goods and estate for the disposing and parting them to the best use and profitt for him, during his mynoritie And whom (by the permission of Almightie God) he shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty Years to have all the aforesaid bequeathed goods and estate att his own disposing, And whatsoever expences my said Executors in trust shall happen to dispend att any time concerning my said Executors his occasion and about his affyre that they shalbee paid and satisfied againe by my said Executor. And I doe give unto my said Executors in trust for their paynes and care that they shall take herein Two shillings six pence apiece to each of them, And for the true manifestation hereof I have hereunto subscribed my marke and set my seale the day and yeare first before written in the presence of those names and hereunto subscribed
