John Church 1777

this is the Last Will and testament of John Church of Castlethorp in the County of Bucks Yeoman being of sound mind and Memory in Manner as followeth I resign my soul to Almighty God in Humble hopes of forgiveness of all my Transgressions through the Mediation of my blessed Redeemer and to my worldly affairs I will that all Just and legal debts I shall owe of the time of my Decease with my Funeral Expences be paid. item I give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Lydia Church all my household furniture and the two tenements I now injoy being at Castlethrop during her natural life, and after the death of my Wife Lydia I give the said two tenements to my daughter Elizabeth Atterbury and I also give to my Wife Lydia the Use of one hundred pounds during her natural Life and from and immediately after her decease I give and bequeath the aforesaid one hundred pounds now being out at Use to my daughter Elizabeth Atterbury with her paying My daughter Mary Smith ten pounds and the other ninty pounds to be at her own dispose but if my wife Lydia should stand in need of part of the said ninty pounds through old Age or affliction shee shall be alowed of the discretion of my trustees as need requirs as far as the said ninty pounds all the rest of and residue of my personal Estate and Effects of what nature so Ever or wheresoever that apportions to me with all Monies and debts due to me I give unto my Loving Wife Lydia Church shee paying all my Just and Lawful debts and Funerall Expences and I hereby nominate Constitute and appoint Thomas Eaglestone of Woolverton and my son in Law Henry Atterbury of Hanslop trustees of this my Last will and Testament to see it faithfully Executed in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty Eighth day of September in the fifteenth year of the Reign of our sovering Lord George the third and in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Church the testator for and his Last Will and testament in the presence of us who at his request have set our names as witness to the same

23rd October 1777 Administration of the goods etc. of John Church late of Castle throp deceased according to the last will and testament of the deceased was granted to Lydia Church the Widow relict and legatory named in the last will and testament of the said deceased there being no executor named in the said will

Know all men by these presents that we Lydia Church of Castlethorpe in the County of Bucks Widow Thomas Nichols of Castlethorpe aforesaid Yeoman and John Atterbury of Hanslop in the County of Bucks Yeoman are held and firmly bound to the Worshipful John Betterworth Doctor of laws Commissary and Official in and through the whole Archdeaconry of Bucks lawfully constituted in two hundred pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain etc.
