Mark Denton 1803

In the Name of God Amen I Mark Denton of Castle Thorpe in the County of Bucks Seedsman being of sound Mind Memory and understanding praise be God Do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following ffirst and Principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping through the Merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer to receive pardon for all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting life and my Body I commit to the Earth by decent Burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named Item I give and bequeath to my Sister Ann Richardson of Stoney Stratford in the County of Bucks the sum of twenty five pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain I also give unto my brother Charles Denton’s two sons John and Thomas Denton late of Marston in the County of Bedford the Sum of ffive pounds each Item I bequeath to my Sister Mary Leeson’s eight children late of Harpole in the County of Northampton viz to John Leeson Robert Leeson Henry Leeson and Joseph Leeson and their Sisters Mary Ann Katherine and Sarah ffive pounds each and to my Sister Ann’s Daughter Ann Barley the sum of ffive pounds Item I give unto my well beloved Wife Martha Denton all that my Messuage or Tenement in which now Dwell together with together with Barns Stables Easements orchards Gardens Backsides with all other Appurtenances thereunto belonging to her the said Martha my beloved Wife her Heirs and Assigns for ever Item I give unto my beloved Wife Martha Denton aforesaid all my Household ffurniture Stock in Trade and all other utensils together with all Moneys Also all Bills Bonds Mortgages and all other Securities for Moneys whatsoever and wheresoever I give unto my said Wife Martha Denton aforesaid for her own proper use and behoof for and during her natural life and after her decease I give to my Sister Ann Richardson aforesaid and the before mentioned Eleven Nephews and Nieces or their Heirs the Sum of ffour hundred and twenty pounds to be equally divided amongst them share and share alike and if any of the Money so left by me should be lost each of the Parties to bear an equal share of the loss And all the Residue and Remainder of my Estate both Real and Personal whatsoever and wheresoever I give unto my beloved Wife Martha Denton aforesaid as her entire Property to do with or dispose of as she please without the Control of any Person Lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Martha Denton aforesaid sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies and bequests and Executors and Executrixes by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Mark Denton (SS) Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Mark Denton the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said Testator and at his request and in the presence of each other.
