Hewgh Ford 1606

In the name of god Amen the first day of July Ao Dm 1605 and in the third year of the reigne of our soverayne lord James by the grace of god king of England ffrance and Ireland Defender of the faith etc and of Scotland the xxxviij I Hewgh fford of Castlethrup in the Countie of Bucks yeoman being ill and diseased in my bodie but of good and perfect remembrance (thanks be to Almightie god) Doe make and ordeyne this my laste will and testament in manner and forme following Fyrste I Comend my soule to the trinity and protector Almighty god the father sone and holie ghost three persons a try… but one god in virtue trusting to be saved by my saviour and redeemer for his xpe And my body to be buried in the Churchyard of Castlethrup aforesaid Also I geve to the mother Church of Lincoln ijd And now I the said Hewgh ford revoking and discharging all other former Wills hereto fore by me made Doe Constitute and Establishe this my Very last will and Testament And hereby this my said Will and last testament I Doe geve and bequeath to Richard Church my sone in law tenne shillings to be paid unto him presentlie after my Decease if it be lawfully demanded Also I geve and bequeath to Thomas Church sone of the said Richard Church five pounds Also I geve and bequeath to John Church sone of the said Richard Church five pounds Also I geve and bequeath to Richard Church the yonger one of the sons of the said Richard Church theelder foure poundes Also I geve and bequeath to harry Church another of the sones of the said Richard Church theelder foure poundes Also I geve and bequeath to Ales Church one of the Daughters of the said Richard Church theelder sixe poundes And more to hir one brasse pott which is the best I have and two pewter platters and one pair of sheets and one Cofer being my redd Cofer Moreover I Doe geve and bequeath to John Church aforenamed one featherbed, one bolster, and one blanket Also I Doe geve and bequeath to Thomas fford now prentice with Thomas Parrat of London shoemaker five pounds Also I doe geve and bequeath to the five children of Richard fford of Sherington in the Countie of Bucks five sheepe that is to say to every one of them a sheepe to be delivered and paid unto them presentlie after my Decease And my Will is that the Legacie of five pounds before geven to Thomas Church shall not be paid unto him before he be of the full age of ffoure and Twenty yeres And that the legacie of five pounds before geven to John Church shalbe paid unto him within three years next after my decease And the other goods before geven him shalbe delivered unto him presently after my Decease And further my Will is that the legacie of foure pounds geven to Richard Church the younger shall not be paid unto him until he shalbe of the full age of foure and twenty yeres And that the Legacye of Sixe pounds geven to Ales Church shalbe paid unto hir at the daie of hir marriage And the other goods to hir afore geven to be delivered hir presentlie after my decease And that the Legacie of foure pounds afore geven to harry Church shall not be paid unto him before he come to the full age of foure and twenty yeres And that the Legacie of five pounds afore geven to Thomas fford shall be paid and delivered to him within five yeres next following after my decease. Provided always and my Will is that if any of the sones or Daughters aforenamed of him the said Richard Church thelder shall fortune to depart this mortall liefe and Dye before the tyme come that they or any of them ought to receyve their said Legacies before to them geven (Except John Church aforesaid) That then the portion or legacie geven unto them so dyinge as is aforesaid shall remayne unto the residewe or rest of them then lyving equally to be devided and portioned among them Also my will is and I doe fully and absolutly geve an bequeath to Bartholomew Parrat now of Castlethrup weaver All that Cottage and Appurtenances thereunto belonging wherein he the said Bartholomew Paratt now dwelleth in Castlethrup aforesaid with all such right title and tearme of yeres yet to come and unexpired of the same which I nowe have by lawfull right and which I promised him and gave unto him the said Bartholomew and Elizabeth his now Wife long before this and in the tyme of my prospertie The rest and residewe of all my goods Chattells and Leases of groundes and Tenements aswell moveable as unmoveable which I now have either in myne owne possession or in the Custodie and possession of any other I Doe geve and bequeath wholly to the said Bartholomew Parrat whom I Doe make my sole executor of this my last will and testament And to see my Debts paid and my legacies and funerals Discharged And I do ordayne and make Christopher Wren and Ralfe Stacie Miller my overseers to see this my laste will and testament justly performed And for the good will I Doe beare to Christopher Wren I Doe geve and bequeath to him twenty shillings And to my neighbour Stacie xijd for his paines In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Daie and yere first above written before the witnesses here under named And further my will is that the Legacie before geven to John Churche shalbe at the disposation of him to any other person or persons whom he shall appoint (if he Doe fortune to Dy) before the said tyme do come that he ought to receive the said Legacie afore to him geven
