In the name of God Amen The second daie of maye Anno dmi 1626 I Richard Rush of Castle Thrope in the countie of Bucks, beinge aged and weake in bodie, but of perfect remembrance thanks be given to God do make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge ffirst I give and bequeath my soule unto the hands of Allmightie God my maker my saviour and my redeemer And my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Castle Thrope aforesaid Item I give unto my maide Anne Burrowes the sume of fower pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within three yeares next after my decease or sooner if Roger Parratt doe paid in the money he oweth me Item I give unto the said Anne the bedd and beddinge that she usually lyeth in my brewinge kettle one of my tubes and one of my barrells which she shall chuse, and one fryinge panne, and one spit and one gridiron Item I give unto the said Anne Burrowes, one featherbed one redd blankett and the bottome of a furnace Item I give unto the poore inhabitants of Lansloppe [Hanslope] seaven pounds of lawfull money of England Item I give unto the poore inhabitants of Castlethorpe seaven pounds of like lawfull money of England And my will and meaninge is that these said severall somes or So.l… of seaven pounds shalbe paid into the hands of the Churchwardens and townesmen of each towne within three yeares after my decease or sooner if it may be hadd of the said Roger Parratt And that the churchwardens and townsmen of each towne for the time beinge shall respectively putt forth the said money upon good securitie, And the money that shall arise of it shalbe given to the poore yearlie at the nativitie of our Lord and savioure Christ Jesus where most neede is by the said townsmen of each towne for ever Item I give Edward Parratt of London my kinsman twentie shillings And to each of his daughters fortie shillings to be paid unto them at such time as the rest of my legacies aforesaid shalbe paid Item I give unto my kinsman Richard Rush of Whetstone twentie shillings And to his son three pounds, And to his daughter that he had by his first wife fortie shillings of lawfull money aforesaid to be paid unto them likewise within three yeares as aforesaid Item I give unto my kinsman Thomas Elringe five pounds to be equally devided betweene him and his daughter at the same time before named Item I give unto Henry Asheby of Newport xij … Item I give unto the eldest daughter of the said Henry Asheby my cupboard and my forme which I left standinge in Roger Parratt house at Draighton And I give unto the youngest daughter of the said Henry Asheby my table and forme nowe standinge in my lofte in Castle Throppe Item I give unto the five Children of John Parratt of Whitfield tenn pounds of like lawfull money as aforesaid to be paid unto them equally fortie shillinges a peece as soone as my Executors can get in my money owinge unto me Item whereas John Pattatt on the Hill in Castlethroppe aforesaid doth owe me fower marks, my will is that every yeare six shillings eight pence of that money shalbe given unto the poore people of Castlethorppe at the discretion of Thomas Church thelder of Castlethropp and the Overseers for the poore on Sainte Andrews Daie Moreover I doe ordaine and appointe John Parratt of Whitfield Thomas Earle Richard Nicholls, and Thomas Church thelder of Castlethroppe aforesaid my Overseers of this my last will and testament Givinge them full power and authoritie to execute this my last will and testament to receave and take up my debts and money owinge unto me, and to distribute it accordinge to this my said will; witnesses hereunto Thomas Church and William Stammer his mark; Signed Richard Rushe
