This Tenant lives at Towcester and his buildings go very much out of repair, all his fences are likewise the same, and it was very imprudent to let so large a farm and not confine the tenant to live upon the first 15 Articles down to Knight's Meadow are all on the north side the road near the house are good pasture and meadow land and together are well worth £1 per. acre the next six Viz. the Grove, Gurnell, Fullers Close, Moor Close, Haymoor and the 3 Mauls should not after this Lease ever be ploughed as they lye convenient and near the house the house for dairy in, the six last Closes lye singly scattered about in Abthorpe and would be better let to persons they lay near than to this farm the nearest being a mile from the house and which means I am of opinion this farm may be Advanced to about £142 per. ann. Great care should be taken that he performs every Article of this Lease. Also keeping the buildings in repair the fencing and not ever ploughing. |
