Daniel Bodaly entered upon this rent at Michaelmas 1768 being an acre & a rood of Ground in Alderton Field with hedge by the highroad included for a brick kiln etc.
Richard Oliver had a Deduction of 10s. 0d from Michaelmas for an acre & rood of Common field lett to D. Bodaly
Lady Day - Michaelmas 1772 Richard Carvill half year rent £2. 10. 0d. This Rent commenced from Lady Day 1772 for two acres an half of Common field land with what he had before taken from Oliver. He continued as the sole rent payer until 1780 when William Clare is included as joint rent payer with Richard Carville for the Brick Kiln.
Michaelmas 1791 John Ratlidge took over the brick kiln from Richard Carville and John Clare, the rent remaining the same at £5 per annum. John Ratlidge remained tenant until at least 1810 when there is a break in the run of rent book until 1821 by which time the tenant for brick kiln close has become John Roper at the half yearly rent of £11 5s. 0d. John Roper remains tenant until Lady Day 1832 when John Roper jun. became the tenant.

Circa 1845 Thomas Foxley is paying £5 a half year for the brick kiln. The payment of £10 per annum continued to be paid by Thomas Foxley until 1887 when the rent records cease.
In the 1871, 1881 and 1891 censuses for Alderton, Frederick Horner is listed as a brick maker, in the 1901 census, Frederick is brick maker manager and his son Walter a brick maker. In the 1881 and 1891 census Henry Rogers is also a brick maker, and John Rogers a brick burner in 1881
