Richard Bland 1703

In the name of God Amen. I Richard Bland of Alderton in the county of Northampton. Yeoman being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God for the same. And having an intent and purpose to settle and dispose of my estate which God in mercy hath bestowed upon me, do hereby make and declare my last Will and Testament in manner and form following this 20th. day of Dec. 1702.
I do give and bequeath unto my dear and loving wife Jane Bland all right interest and term in the house wherein I now dwell together with it's appurtenances, as also all my lands whether arable, pasture, ley or meadow ground lying and being within the town and Common Fields of Alderton, which I hold by lease from Her Majesty the Queen Dowager. To the use and behoof of my said wife, for the maintenance of her and my children, till my son Richard Bland arrives at the age of one and twenty years.
I do give all my right and interest in the above named premises to my [son] Richard Bland from and after the time that he shall arrive at the age of one and twenty years. He paying his mother yearly the sum of eight pounds out of the said estate during the term of her natural life.
I give to my three daughters Jane, Grace and Elizabeth the sum of thirty pounds apiece as each of them shall arrive at the age of one and twenty years, to be paid them by my executors herein after named.
I give all my household goods to be equally divide between my four children.
I give all the rest of my goods cattles and chattels to my executors towards the payment of my debts legacies and funeral expenses, and do make and appoint my wife Jane Bland and my son Richard Bland executors of this my last Will and Testament. Witness my hand and seal the day and year above written.
