Robert Blunt 1849
This is the will and testament of me Robert Blunt of Alderton in the County of Northampton farmer I give and devise all my real Estate and appoint all the Real Estate over which I have a power of appointment unto my sons John Edward Blunt and Stephen Blunt, my daughter Playford the wife of William Parish and the two children of my late daughter Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Williams and their several and respective heirs and assigns as tenants in common, nevertheless the said two children of my said late daughter Elizabeth to represent their mother and shall have one fourth part only of the said Real Estate equally between them, And I declare that if either of the said children of my said late daughter Elizabeth shall die before he shall attain the age of twenty one years any share of my Real Estate to which he may be entitled at the time of his decease shall go to the survivor of them and his heirs, And in case of the death of both of them under that age then the same shall go and be equally divided between my said sons and daughter John Edward Blunt Stephen Blunt and Playford the wife of William Parish and their respective heirs and assigns and give devise and appoint the same accordingly I give and devise unto my said daughter Playford the wife of William Parish the sum of two hundred pounds to my sons in law William Parish and Thomas Williams the sums of ten pounds apiece I give and bequeath to my son John Edward Blunt the sum of seven hundred pounds of lawful British money as an equivalent of the several sums which I gave before this day advanced his brother Stephen Blunt And all the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate I give and bequeath unto my said two sons John Edward Blunt and Stephen Blunt equally to be divided between them nevertheless any sum or sums of money which may this day or at any time hereafter advance to either of my said sons shall be accounted for and brought into my residuary Estate by him and distributed accordingly And I declare that it shall be lawful for my said son in law Thomas Williams to receive the rent interest or dividends of the property hereby bequeathed to his children respectively during their respective minorities and apply the same towards their respective maintenance I appoint my said sons John Edward Blunt and Stephen Blunt and my brother Stephen Blunt and John Jeffery of the town of Northampton gentleman Trustees and Executors of this my will and I empower them or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or administrators of such survivor if they or he shall think it advantageous so to during the minority of any person or persons entitled under this my will to any part of my Real Estate to sell the part or parts of my said Real Estate to which such person or persons shall be so entitled together or in parcels by public auction or private contract and purchaser or purchasers thereof And I empower my said Trustees or the survivors or survivor of them or the Executors or administrators of such survivor to give receipts for the purchase money and I declare that such receipts shall exonerate the person taking the same from all liability to see to the application or disposition of the money therein mentioned to be received And I direct that my said Trustees or Trustee for the time being of my will shall invest the money to arise from such sale or sales in the public Funds or on Mortgage of Real Security And shall hold the stocks funds or securities whereon such investment shall be made upon trust for the same person or persons as would have been entitled to the Real Estate from the sale whereof such money shall have arisen if the same Real Estate had not been sold And I do hereby revoke all former wills made by me at any time heretofore
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty second day of April one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.
Signed by the said Robert Blunt the Testator in the presence of us who are present at the said time as Witnesses and who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other attest and subscribe the same

In the Archdeaconry Court of Northampton
On the 15th day of September 1849 John Edward Blunt and Stephen Blunt (the son) of Alderton in the county of Northampton farmers' Stephen Blunt (the brother) of Yardley Gobion in the parish of Potterspury in the same county gentleman and John Jeffery of the town of Northampton in the same county gentleman , the Executors named in the within will were then sworn well and faithfully to perform and fulfil the same according to Law And that the deceased at the time of his death (which happened on the 20th day of May 1849) was not possessed of goods chattels and crdits of the value of three thousand pounds
