Robert Cooke 1748

In the name of God Amen I Robert Cooke of Aldrington in the County of Northampton yeoman being of a sound and perfect mind memory and understanding praised be to God for the same. Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator trusting to be saved through His Merits and Mediation of our Blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and to my temporal estate I dispose those of as follows. First I give unto my son Robert Cook the sum of one shilling I also give to my said son Robert one of my worst wagons. Item all the rest residue and remainder of my goods chattels effects and personal estate of what nature or kind so ever and whatsoever and where so ever I give and bequeath the same unto my loving wife Frances Cook and my son John Cook to be equally divided between them and do hereby make my said wife Frances and my said son John joint executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Wills by me here to for made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twentieth day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty seven.
