Thomas Hawkins 1622

In the name of God Amen the tenth day of December in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twenty and two. I Thomas Hawkins of Aldrington in the county of Northampton Labourer sick in body but of whole and perfect memory for which I give most praise and hearty thanks to Almighty God make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say first I bequeath my soul to Almighty God hoping to be saved by the merits of his son Jesus Christ my Lord and only Saviour. And my body to be buried at the discretion of my friends.
Item I give and bequeath to Anne my daughter my best chest, my best pan and my table and form.
Item I give to Mary my daughter my pan and my two best kettles.
Item I give to Nicholas my son the bed where on I now lie with all the furniture thereof my spit and cobb irons and my [wide] coffer. And my will is that Anne my wife shall have the use and possession of all the said bequeathed legacies during her natural life if she keeps herself a widow. But if she marries again then my will is that my said children shall immediately thereupon have and receive their said legacies. All the rest of my goods and chattels my debts legacies and funeral expenses being paid and discharged. I give and bequeath to Anne my said wife whom I make executrix of this my said last Will and Testament, whereunto I have put mine hand the day and year first above written witnesses hereunto.
