William Hawkins 1629

In the name of God Amen the ninth day of March 1628. I William Hawkins of Alderton in the county of Northampton. Labourer being in perfect memory (thanks be to God) do make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first of all I commend my sole to Almighty God my creator trusting to be saved only by the death and passion of Jesus Christ my most dear Saviour and merciful redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard and my goods I bequeath as follows viz.
I give to my oldest son Robert Hawkins 12d
I give to my daughter Mary the bedstead standing in the loft, furthermore I give unto her ten shillings. If my wife Mary do marry, this ten shillings to be paid within one month after my wife's marriage.
I give to my daughter Agnes one low bed standing on the first hand at the going in to the parlor, and also if my wife Mary do marry I give to her ten shillings to be paid within one month after the marriage of my wife.
I give to my daughter Elizabeth Hawkins a joined coffer standing in the little house in the yard, and also if my wife Mary do marry ten shillings to be paid within one month after the marriage of my wife.
I give to my son John Hawkins ten shillings to be paid at the age of twenty years.
I give to my daughter Ales ten shillings also to be paid at the age of twenty years.
I make my loving wife Mary Hawkins full and sole executrix of all my goods and cattle and chattels not bequeathed, my debts and funeral expenses discharged, and I request Francis Butler and Lawrence Carter my loving neighbours to be my overseers of this my last Will and Testament. To which I have put my hand and seal the day and year above written.
