In the name of God Amen the one and twentieth day of July in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twenty seven I Edward Holman the elder of Aldrington in the county of Northampton yeoman sick in body but of whole and perfect memory praise be to Almighty God for it make and constitute this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say first and principally I bequeath my soul into the merciful hands of Almighty God hoping to be saved by the only merits of his Son Jesus Christ my redeemer. And my body to be buried in holy burial at the discretion of my executors and other my friend.
Item I give and bequeath unto Edward Holman my son all such sum and sums of money whichever any monies to me owing and due either by specialty or other ways giving unto my said son Edward my full p.. by these presents to receive the sum to his own use and to receive the same by all lawful ways and means. And moreover I give and bequeath unto my said son Edward the full sum of two hundred pounds of lawful money of England to be paid unto him his executors and administrators or assigns in manner and form following. That is to say in and upon the eighteenth day of October next ensuing the date hereof three score pounds, and is and upon the eighteenth day of October which shall be in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twenty and eight £40. And in and upon the thirteenth day of October which shall be in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred twenty and nine three score pounds. And lastly in and upon the eighteenth day of October which shall be in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and thirty £40 pounds.
I give and bequeath to Agnes my wife the one moiety or half of all my land and tenement which I hold by lease to have and to hold the same to her and her assigns during the term of her natural life or term of years in the said lease and lease set in being whichever shall first determine. All the rest of my goods and chattels as well real my personal I give and bequeath unto Thomas my son whom I make the soul executor of this my last Will and Testament, where unto I have put my hand and seal upon the day and year first above written witnesses hereunto
