Robert Holman 1559

In the Name of God Amen the 12th. day of April in the year of our Lord God 1559 I Robert Holman of Alderton in the county of Northampton and within the diocese of Peterborough being of good and perfect remembrance thanks be to God do make and constitute this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Alderton aforesaid
Item give and bequeath to the mother church of Peterborough 4d
Item bequeath to the sepulcher a pound of wax
Item to Vincent Holman which is the son of Thomas Holman at the day of my burial I give and bequeath my cottage in the said Alderton. And if the said Vincent do die before he come to full age I will that the said cottage shall remain to William Holman if he die to Anthony Holman
Item to young John Fowler I bequeath in ready money 40s
Item give and bequeath to every godchild 4d
Item give to John Holman the son of John Holman a sheep
Item give to Richard Holman and Vincent Holman the sons of Thomas Holman 2 sheep
Item give to John Holman my brother my best gown
Item give to Richard Webe my green coat and the residue of my wearing rayments. The residue of all my goods my debts paid I give and bequeath them to Agnes Holman my wife whom I ordain and make my sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament These being witnesses Thomas Saywell and John Allen
