John Mayoo 1528

[Missing] in name of God Amen the 28th. day of the month of April the year of Our Lord God 1528. I Sir John Mayoo parson of Alderton in the diocese Lincoln whole of mind and of good remembrance make my Testament last Will in this manner wise first I bequeath my sole to Almighty God illeg. his blessed mother and Lady Saint and to all the holy company in heaven my body to be buried in the chancel of Saint Margaret of Alderton before named . I bequeath for my mortuary my best horse or cow to my lord bishop as the custom is. Also to the cathedral church of Lincoln 12d.
Item to the sepulcher light in the church of Alderton 2s.
Item I bequeath to the said church 2 torches.
Item to Saint Mary light in the chancel a pound of wax.
Item to the rood light a pound of wax.
Item to the repair of the bells in Alderton 6s 8d.
Item to every of my godchildren 4d.
Item to the bells of Stoke Bruerne 3s 4d.
Item to the trinity light in the said Stoke church a pound of wax.
Item to the said church two torches
Item to Robert Alysam the younger a heifer or a cow.
Item to Ectun church 2 torches.
Item to every Friar house in Northampton 3s 4d.
Item to Twyford bridge to dycke[ditch] that the water may have his [follow it's] course 5d
The residue of all my goods movable and unmovable above not bequeathed I fully give and bequeath the [missing] and Joan Mayoo my kinsfolk to part their [illeg & missing] marriage for to pray for my soul and my father's soul [missing] and all Christian souls and I make ordain and constitute of [missing] Will and Testament Robert Mayoo Joan Mayoo Thomas May[oo] [missing] Mayoo to be my executors. I give [missing] the health of my sole as best shall please Almighty God [missing] of this my last Will. Sir Robert Page John Prewe [missing] [and others named] Pains. Item I will that my executors [missing] the finishing of the steeple of Alderton four pounds.
