Testament Richard Penne of Alderton deceased 1569
In the name of God Amen the 11th day of the month of March 1569. I Richard Penne of Alderton within the county of Northampton being whole in mind also of good memory thanks be given unto God do constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, first I bequeath and commit my soul to Almighty God and all the holy company in heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Alderton aforesaid
I bequeath to the church of Peterborough 4d.
I bequeath to Edward Penne my eldest son £3 of good and lawfull money of England and a bullock to be paid at 16 years of age.
I bequeath to Thomas Penne my son £3 and a bullock.
I bequeath to William Penne my son £3 and a bullock.
I bequeath to Nicholas Penne my son £3 and a bullock.
I bequeath to Isabell my daughter £3 and the best cow in my yard a bullock 10 sheep and all these my children to have these part at 16 years of age.
I bequeath to Edward Penn my brother 10s
I bequeath to Thomas Cannfyld my wife's son 10s and a bullock.
I bequeath to Jane Cannfyld my wife's daughter 10s and a bullock.
I bequeath to John Cannfyld my brother in law a land of barley.
Item I bequeath to Richard Swayne my brother in law a land of barley.
I bequeath to every of my godchildren 4d a piece.
The rest of all my goods movable and unmoveable my debts being paid and my body honestly brought to the ground I give and bequeath to Jane Penne my wife whom I make here my soul executrix and she to enjoy and occupy my house and my land until my son Edward comes to be 21 years of age. These being witness Thomas Howman Thomas Buncher Robert Travell with other men.
