Edward Richards 1614
In the name of God Amen, the 23rd. day of May in the year of our Lord God 1614. I Edward Richards of Aldrington in the county of Northampton . Labourer. Sick in body but of whole and prefect memory for the which I give most hearty praise and thanks to Almighty God. Make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say first and principally I commend my soul into the merciful hands of Almighty God hoping to be saved through a true and [lyvthe] faith in the merits and blood thereof our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And my body to be buried in the churchyard of Alderington aforesaid.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Richard Richards my best kettle.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Edward my table in the hall the form and the great chair.
Item I give to my son Robert my best coverlet.
Item I give to my son Henry my pan that stands in the hall and the coffer at the chamber door.
Item I give to my daughter Frances my cupboard and the coffer standing at my bed's head. All the rest of my goods and chattels whatsoever [illeg] my debts legacies and [illeg] I give and bequeath to Alice my wife whom I make and constitute the sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament whereunto I have put my hand and seal here the day and year first above written in the presence of them whose names are underwritten that is to say.
