Samuel Rolt 1722

In the name of God Amen this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord 1722; I Samuel Rolt of Alderton alias Aldrington in the county of Northampton Gent. Being aged and infirm, but of sound mind and memory, praise be God; considering the frailty and uncertainty of Human life; do make, ordain, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say). First I commit and commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping to obtain eternal salvation through the alone merits and mediation of our Blessed Saviour and Redeemer the Lord Jesus Christ. My body I leave to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor herein after named. My worldly estate I thus dispose of as follows.
I give, ratify and confirm to my grandson Samuel Rolt all those freehold lands, tenements and hereditaments mentioned to be settled upon him in a conveyance dated the 2nd. day of July 1716.
I give to my grandson Samuel Rolt all the money principal and interest that is due to me from Captain Brice upon bond.
I give to my grandson Samuel Rolt my books and my silver tankard.
I give to my grandson Samuel Dudley ten pounds.
I give to my grandson John Dudley ten pounds to buy him mourning.
I give to my grand-daughter Francess Dudley the sum of fifty pounds.
I give to my grand: daughter Elizabeth Dudley the sum of twenty pounds.
I give to my niece Dorothy Tuckwell the wife of Mr. Thomas Tuckwell of Northtampton Cutler the sum of ten pounds. All which sums above mentioned to be by me given and bequeathed my will is that they be paid within six months after my decease.
All the rest and residue of my goods, cattle, chattels, Rights, Credits, Leasehold Land and Tenements during the term I have in them and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my son in law Samuel Dudley and my daughter Mary Dudley his wife. And I make the said Samuel Dudley sole executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby disannulling and revoking all former Wills by me at any time formerly made or published. In Witness whereof I the said Samuel Rolt the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
