Henry Rookes 1610

In the name of God Amen the 23rd. day of September in the year of our Lord God 1610. I Henry Rookes of Aldrington in the County of Northampton yeomen sick in body but of whole and perfect memory ( for the which I give most hearty thanks to Almighty God) make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. That is to say first I commend my soul to Almighty God hoping to be saved by the merits and death of his son Jesus Christ our Lord and only Redeemer; And my body to be buried in the churchyard of Aldrington aforesaid. Item I bequeath to William Cooper of Stony Stratford a canvas doublet, and one of my flaxen shirts And to my cousin Francis Rookes of Wandon in the county of Bucks a pair of hose, a doublet, a jerkin and a flaxen shirt. All the rest of my goods and chattels I give to Bridget my wife, whom I make and constitute the sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Henry Rookes to this my last Will and Testament have put my hand and seal therein the day and year first above written. Viz. the 23rd. day of September 1610
