William Saysbye 1547

In the name of God Amen. I William Saybye of Alderton in the county of Northampton make my Will in this manner as follows. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God our Lady Saint Mary and all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Alderton aforesaid and to my mortuary as the law requires[missing] in the […] half.
Item to the mother church of Peterborough 2d and to the altar of Alderton 2d.
Item to the bells 4d.
Item to Jane Martyn that I have chosen to my wife a boyndyl cow and my wive's best kirtell a hat with a bonnet a coffer and a land of barley.
Item to Jone Smyth for her pains taking with me a calf.
Item to John Homon Robert Homan and Thomas Homan my working tools.
Item I will that John Homan shall be my full executor and to oversee my 2 children and also the overseeing of all my goods to the children's behalf and I make Robert Homan and Thomas Homan overseers thereof and for their pains so taking to half of my working tools as afore he's said.
