William Slater 1825

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Slater of Alderton in the County of Northampton yeoman as follows (that is to say) whereas I have agreed with my son in law Luke Stuchbery for the purchase of a house and close in Alderton aforesaid in the occupation of my son Thomas Slater and therefore it is my will that my executors shall out of my personal estate pay the purchase money of one hundred pounds and which house and close I give to my said son, Thomas Slater his heirs and assigns forever all and every my other closes lands tenements and premises in the several parishes of Alderton aforesaid and Paulerspury in the same county with the appurtenances (except as hereafter mentioned) I give and devise unto and to the use of my son William Slater his heirs and assigns forever All that my house and garden with the appurtenances in Alderton aforesaid now in the occupation of Ann Westley I give and devise unto and to use of my son John Slater his heirs and assigns forever al my ready money securities for money goods chattels cattle and effects whatsoever I give and bequeath to my said son William Slater for his own use and benefit he paying there out to my said son John Slater the sum of one hundred pounds to my son Richard Slater the sum of one hundred pounds to my son Edward Slater the sum of one hundred pounds and to my daughter Priscilla Stuchbery the sum of seventy pounds within twelve calendar months next after my decease and to William Key, Sarah Key Susannah Key and Mary key the children of my late daughter Mary Key deceased the sum of five pounds apiece to be paid at their respective ages of twenty one years, and also my just debts funeral expences and the expence of having this my will and I appoint my said son William Slater and my nephew Winckles Cleaver of Greens Norton joint executors of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen.

Signed sealed published and declared by the herein named William Slater to his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names and witness thereto
