Richard Travell 1557

In the Name of God Amen 1557 the first day of February I Richard Travell of the town of Alderton whole in mind and of perfect memory fearing the hour of death make my Testament and last Will in Manner and form as follows. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God to Our Lady St. Marie and to all the Blessed company of heaven and my body be buried in the churchyard of Alderton.
Item I bequeath to the mother church of Lyncolne 2d.
Item I bequeath to Isabell my wife 2 [kine] a great pied cow and a brown cow.
Item I bequeath to Isabell my wife half my lease and half my goods.
Item I bequeath to Isabell my wife all the bedding in the selor [solar] or parlour.
Item I bequeath to Isabell my wife all the brass and pewter all the nupre ware all the linen and woolen all the coffers and chests saving one.
Item I bequeath to Isabell my wife two bedsteads.
Item I bequeath to Robert my son the elder half my lease and half of my goods.
Item I bequeath to Elizabeth my daughter my best pan.
Item I bequeath to Alexandra [missing] son [mylne] a calf the age of 2 years and to be reared hereafter. Item I bequeath to Robert my son the younger 4 marks in money and to be paid at 16 years of age.
Item I bequeath to the said Robert my best jerkin.
Item I will that the said Robert my son be kept betwixt my wife and Robert my son the elder for the space of 8 years.
Item I bequeath to Jone Typpeler 6 bushels of barley to be delivered within the space of 3 years.
Item I bequeath to Ursula my wife's daughter 20s. that was her stock.
Item I bequeath to the said Ursula my best pot and a mare a table pair of trestles a form a bedstead two stools.
Item I bequeath to Elizabeth my wife's daughter 20s that was her stock a table a bedstead 2 forms 2 stools.
Item I bequeath to Twyford Bridge half a strike of barley.
Item I bequeath to repairs of the bells half a strike of barley.
The rest of my goods not bequeathed I honestly brought to the ground I bequeath to Isabel my wife and to Robert my son the elder whom I make my full executor.
Item I will that Thomas Holman and Ralph Grenehall clerk to be the overseers of this my last Will and Testament trusting that they will see my will performed and done. These being witness to this my last Will and Testament. Thomas Holman Richard Reu John Holman with other men.
