Elizabeth Webb 1647
I Elizabeth Webb of Alderton in the county of Northampton spinster being weak in body but of perfect memory blessed be God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament the 15th day of April 1647 in manner and form following Item I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my redeemer trusting alone in the perfect merits of the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation And whereas there was a legacy of £300 given me by the last Will of Richard Webb late of Heathencott in the county of Northampton aforesaid yeoman bearing date the 25th. day of September 1643 To be paid unto me by his executors with the increase thereof at mine age of eighteen years and to be put forth by them for my best benefit within two years next after his decease which three hundred pounds with all the increase thereof I do dispose of and bequeath as follows I give unto Richard Rockingham and his wife 20s. a piece to buy either of them a ring Item I give to my cousin Susannah Birde ten pounds Item I give to my cousin Mary Rockingham twenty pounds Item I give to my cousin Elizabeth Rockingham twenty pounds Item I give to my cousin Henry Basson the younger five pounds Item I give to my cousin John Bason son of William Bason three pounds Item I give to mine aunt Margaret Foddy five pounds Item I give to my grandfather and grandmother Underwood ten pounds Item I give to my Nurse Harris five pounds Item I give to my cousin Norfolke of Paulerspury widow five pounds Item I give to my cousin Mary Newman natural daughter to Thomas Newman £30 and a little silver wine cup Item I give to my cousin Martha Miles thirty pounds and a little silver salt Item I give to my cousin Sarah Rockingham five pounds Item I give to John Bennet of Bosnam Mill five pounds Item I give to my cousin Mary Halton £3 Item I give to my cousin Thomas Webb of Bradden five pounds Item I give to my cousin William Nicholls £5 Item I give to Thomas Alleston £2 Item I give to Mary Hawkins daughter of John Hawkins of Alderton 20s. Item I give to Elizabeth Ruff 20s. Item I give to Robert Vallet five shillings Item I give to every poor household in Alderton one shilling a piece Item I give all the rest of the paid legacy of £300 with all the increase thereof together with all other my goods unbequeathed unto Elizabeth Webb of Alderton aforesaid widow with whom I have long lived and who has always used me as her daughter And I do hereby make and appoint the said Elizabeth Webb the sole executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby constitute and make Vincent Cupper of Paulerspury clerke and Mr. Thomas Beale servant of the parish of Whittlebury and Mr. George Penson of Towcester the overseers of this my Will And I do give to every of them 20s. a piece to buy them rings
