In hand late Thomas Roe who secreeted himself & afterwards left the Country
Thos. Roe was under a written Agreement for his farm for 3 years which expired at Laday 1747 but he did not then nor to this Febry 1748 surrender it up, on the contrary he sowed some of the land & disposed of the crop after Laday 1748 & kept the house locked, before Michs. 1747 a writ was ordered against him for a years rent he owed the Earl of Euston at Laday 1747 & for the wast he had committed upon the farm: But Roe secreeted himself & His Lordship dying soom after the Suit was abated & nothing more could be done therein till after Michs. 1747 when upon Administration granted to His Lordships the Suit was revived but Roe was not taken. The farm being thus deserted & running to ruin a forcible entry was made upon the lands in the month of March before Laday 1748 in order to make good the Tences & put it in a condition either to lot or make something of it by Agistment, it being a grazing dairy farm chiefly and it still remains in hand. Possession was not obtained of the house untill July 1748 when it was broke open by the collectors of the Land Tax to see if there were any effects of Roe to answer the same but there was none.
