In the name of God Amen I Paul Dayrell of Ashton in the county of Northampton gent and steward to the Right Honourable the Lady Anne Dowager Brook Dec third twenty fifth day of March the year of our Lord one thousand six hundred and seventy nine make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First I bequeath my soul into the hands of God who gave it my body to the earth with hopes of a joyful and happy resurrection And as for my worldly Estate I give as follows First I give unto my son Edmond Dayrell my Free land lying in Ashton and that at Pidington in the county of Northampton being in one lease for five hundred years yet in being together with all the Title thereunto belonging Item I give unto my son Edmond aforesaid my Leasehold land in Ashton in the county of Northampton aforesaid during his natural life And my will is that if any of the years of that Lease of my land in Ashton aforesaid be remaining unexpired after the death of my son Edmond aforesaid my two grandsons Paul and Abell enjoy and possess my aforesaid land in Ashton during or until that Lease shall expire Item I give unto my nephew Edmond Dayrell my gun which was given me by the Right Honourable Robert Lord Brooke and the Right Honourable Fulk Lord Brooke Item I give unto the poor of the parish of Ashton aforesaid two pounds of lawful monies of England to be disposed of by my executors hereafter named Item I give unto the poor of Breamore in the county of Southampton one pound of Lawful money of England to be disposed of by the Minister and Churchwardens of the said parish of Breamore Item I give unto my dear wife that silver cup which was given unto me by the Honourable Fulk Lord Brooke Item I give unto my wife my silver studded watch And all the rest of my goods chattels and money my funeral expenses and legacies being paid I give unto my dear wife whom I make sole executrix in Trust for the disposing or placing abroad my two grandsons afore named Paul and Abell And my will is that for and after such placing aboard they remain at my wife's disposing until they are of the age of twenty one years In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written Paul Dayrell Published sealed signed and delivered in the presence of Will Holloway Ja: Dowcett and George Maynard
