Extract from the Will of Richard Harris
I give & bequeath to my loving son Edward my house barn & stable & all of belongs to the same premises paying out of the same such sum or sums of money here after named;
I give & bequeath to my Mother Church five pounds to be paid her quarterly that is to say five shillings per quarter five years till ye sum of five pounds is paid & to begin to pay her one year after my decease; I
tem I give & bequeath unto my son John Twenty Pounds to be paid by his brother Edward out of his house ten years after my decease & likewise give and bequeath to my son John ye Windmill & Bank being in Hartwell field after my father’s decease.
For the rest & residue of my goods & chattels my will is this they be equally parted between my son Edward & my son John share and share alike; And I also hereby appoint both my sons to be Executors of this my last will & Testament etc.

The Condition of the within written Obligation is such that if the within bounder John Harris the Grandfather and trustee … in the last Will and Testament of Richard Harris late of Hartwell in the County of Northampton Gingerbread Maker of and for Edward Harris and John Harris Minors under fourteen years Sons of the said deceased and Executors named in the said Will of the said deceased and also Administrator of all and singular the Goods Chattles and … of the said deceased with his said Will etc.
